Parallelsession 3: Regenerative Evaluation: Influences, Insights, and Emerging Practices for New Perspectives on Impact

Kirsten Bording Collins, Founder/Principal, AdaptivePurpose and Jannik Kaiser, Co-founder/CEO, Unity Effect, Germany.

The last decades have seen the rise of participatory, developmental, culturally-responsive, equitable (CREE), and systems-based approaches to evaluation, each challenging the traditional approaches to evaluation and inviting more systemic and holistic ways of assessing change. This session will introduce an approach we are calling ‘Regenerative Evaluation’ which builds on these newer, non- traditional approaches and is grounded in living systems thinking and regenerative approaches to design and development.  We will share insights from the ‘Regenerative Evaluation Living Paper’ – a collaborative effort through the Regenerative Evaluation Community of Practice we have been hosting. We will explore the influences; useful methodological approaches; and suggest operating principles for practice. We will then invite reflection and dialogue on real-world applications to foster thriving systems, equitable relationships & deeper learning for impact.
