Leonora Buckland, Center for Social Impact
Abstract: Based on an Esade Center for Social Impact research report, ‘From measurement of impact to learning for impact’, which looked at the key steps of design and development of an impact management system at organizational level, we have created an interactive, fun and insightful gameboard which helps you to visually chart and discuss where your organization is in terms of maturity along each dimension. The five steps you will be assessing include: 1) Designing an impact management approach; 2) Resourcing and organizing for impact management; 3) Embedding impact management through organizational culture; 4) Building internal and external capacity to manage impact; and 5) Collaborating, sharing knowledge and being transparent.
In this workshop, I will present the gameboard and discuss a few inspirational examples to get you all going. Then you will be colouring in your own unique gameboard, allowing for a visual representation of where your organization is in your journey and discussing this alongside other workshop participants.
We have used this gameboard in various workshops to rave reviews as it facilitates organization-wide reflection and discussion and enables organisations to quickly grasp what good looks like and what priority actions might be moving forward.
This workshop is particularly appropriate if you are a hands-on, internal person responsible for evaluation and learning in your organization and/or if you are looking for a structured, holistic diagnostic tool related to impact measurement and management.
